Police foil Jatiya Party’s rally in Kakrail

Police foiled a scheduled rally of the Jatiya Party (JaPa) in front of the party’s central office at Kakrail in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses and party leaders alleged that police used water cannons and fired several sound grenades to disperse the gathering while leaders were addressing the rally. The sudden action forced party activists to flee, leaving the event in chaos.
The incident occurred around 3:30 PM. No casualties have so far been reported in this connection.
