At least 15 people were killed and
\nscores injured as two intercity trains collided in Kasba upazila here early
\ntoday.<\/p>\n

The accident took place at Mondobhag Railway Station around 3am as
\nChattogram-bound Udayan Express from Sylhet and Dhaka-bound Turna Nishita
\nfrom Chattogram collided, leaving 15 people dead, said Md Delwar Hossain,
\nloco shed in-charge of Akhaura Railway Junction.<\/p>\n

The collision occurred while Udayan Express was changing its track at the
\nstation, BSS correspondent said.<\/p>\n

At least two coaches of Udayan Express were severely damaged, he added.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Akhaura Railway Police Station Shymal Kanti Das
\nsaid eight bodies were recovered so far from the spot.<\/p>\n

\u201cRescue operation is underway. Death toll may rise as many people are still
\ntrapped under the damaged coaches,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.<\/p>\n

Being informed, firefighters from Brahmanbaria Sadar, Akhaura and Kasba
\nrushed to the spot and have been carrying out the rescue operations along
\nwith police, railway authorities and local people.<\/p>\n

The injured were taken to Kasba, Akhaura and Zila Sadar Hospitals.<\/p>\n

Rail communication between Dhaka-Chattogram, Dhaka-Noakhali and Chattogram-
\nSylhet has been suspended following the accident.<\/p>\n

A three-member probe committee was formed by district administration to
