{"id":7201,"date":"2019-10-06T07:51:49","date_gmt":"2019-10-06T07:51:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deshmediabd.info\/?p=7201"},"modified":"2019-10-06T07:51:49","modified_gmt":"2019-10-06T07:51:49","slug":"sheikh-hasina-honoured-with-tagore-peace-award-in-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deshnews24.info\/?p=7201","title":{"rendered":"Sheikh Hasina honoured with \u2018Tagore Peace Award\u2019 in India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI, Oct 5, 2019 (BSS) \u2013 Asiatic Society of Kolkata today honoured Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with the prestigious \u201cTagore Peace Award-2018\u201d in recognition of her contribution to maintaining regional peace and prosperity.<\/p>\n<p>President of Kolkata Asiatic Society Professor Isha Mohammed handed over the award to Sheikh Hasina at a function at Taj Mahal Hotel in the Indian capital.<\/p>\n<p>Noted intellectual figure and General Secretary of Kolkata Asiatic Society Sattya Brata Chowdhury delivered the welcome address.<\/p>\n<p>The previous recipients of the award included world leader Nelson Mandela and eminent economist Amartya Sen.<\/p>\n<p>A citation was read out on the function in honour of the premier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Asiatic Society is honoured to confer the \u201cTagore Peace Award-2018\u2033 to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her contribution towards human understand and peace,\u201d the citation said.<\/p>\n<p>After receiving the award, the premier dedicated it to the countrymen, saying, \u201cThe people of Bangladesh is eligible to get the honour because they voted me to power.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/deshmediabd.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"884\" height=\"588\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7202\" srcset=\"https:\/\/deshnews24.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/3.jpg 884w, https:\/\/deshnews24.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/deshnews24.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/3-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 884px) 100vw, 884px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI, Oct 5, 2019 (BSS) \u2013 Asiatic Society of Kolkata today honoured Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with the prestigious \u201cTagore Peace Award-2018\u201d in recognition of her contribution to maintaining regional peace and prosperity.
