Chief Adviser (CA) Muhammad Yunus will hold separate meetings with leaders from Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami, and Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) on Sunday to discuss the upcoming national election and country\u2019s current political situation.<\/p>\n
Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, Shafiqul Alam, confirmed the meetings during a media briefing on Saturday at State Guest House Jamuna.

\nAlam said the meetings will take place at different times: 3:00 PM with BNP, 4:30 PM with Jamaat, and 6:00 PM with NCP.<\/p>\n
These discussions come amid heightened political tensions ahead of the February 2026 elections, with the interim government reiterating its commitment to holding the elections on schedule despite ongoing opposition and calls for delay.<\/p>\n
Addressing concerns over possible disruptions, Alam remarked that “no conspiracy” would prevent the government from proceeding with the election as planned.<\/p>\n
Earlier, in a statement issued by the Chief Adviser\u2019s Press Wing, the interim government called for unity among political and social forces that were involved in the July Uprising, emphasizing that such unity was crucial to protect the progress made thus far.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe government reaffirms in the strongest terms that the national election will take place on time, in the first half of February 2026. This is the firm commitment of the interim government to the people of Bangladesh,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
The government also condemned the recent violent attack on Nurul Haque Nur, the president of Gono Odhikar Parishad and a key leader in the July Uprising, calling the assault an attack on the democratic spirit of the nation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe government assures the people of Bangladesh that a thorough investigation into this heinous attack will be conducted. No one, regardless of their position or influence, will escape accountability,\u201d the statement concluded.<\/p>\n
