{"id":59210,"date":"2025-04-08T16:55:34","date_gmt":"2025-04-08T16:55:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deshmediabd.com\/?p=59210"},"modified":"2025-04-08T16:55:34","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T16:55:34","slug":"brics-backed-bank-to-lend-1b-to-bangladesh-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deshnews24.info\/?p=59210","title":{"rendered":"BRICS-backed bank to lend $1b to Bangladesh this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The BRICS-established New Development Bank (NDB) has planned to raise its lending to Bangladesh development projects to US$ one billion this year, a vice-president of the Shanghai-based multilateral lender said here today.<\/p>\n<p>Vladimir Kazbekov, a Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NDB, said the bank has approved US$ 320 million for the implementation of the Expanded Dhaka City Water Supply Resilient project. But, this year it wants to more than triple the funding amount in view of Bangladesh&#8217;s development needs.<\/p>\n<p>Kazbekov made the comments when he called on Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna here.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief Adviser appreciated the role of the new multilateral lender, saying it can make a significant contribution in upgrading its development infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Kazbekov said the lender was also committed to making major support for the infrastructure development of the gas sector in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n<p>The NDB was also interested in lending substantially to the country&#8217;s private sector in an effort to strengthen their capacity, Kazbekov said.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bssnews.net\/news-flash\/261297\">\u09ac\u09bf\u09b8\u09cd\u09a4\u09be\u09b0\u09bf\u09a4<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The BRICS-established New Development Bank (NDB) has planned to raise its lending to Bangladesh development projects to US$ one billion this year, a vice-president of the Shanghai-based multilateral lender said here today.
