After 33 days of record heatwave spell,<\/p>\n
northeastern, central and south-eastern parts of Bangladesh witnessed
\nmuch awaited rainfall with thunderstorms last night bringing respite
\nfrom intense heatwave.<\/p>\n
\u201cMuch of the country including Dhaka city experienced significant
\nrainfall with thunderstorms last night bringing downs mercury as
\nBangladesh has been facing longer and intense heatwave since April 1,\u201d
\nOmar Faruq, meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department
\n(BMD) told BSS this morning.<\/p>\n
Dhaka city and its adjacent districts recorded a significant amount of
\nrainfall, he said adding, \u201cDhaka recorded 36mm rainfall while 31 mm
\nrains were recorded in Narayanganj, 32mm in Kishorganj, 12mm in
\nTangail.\u201d<\/p>\n
