{"id":38695,"date":"2023-07-07T05:46:36","date_gmt":"2023-07-07T05:46:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deshmediabd.com\/?p=38695"},"modified":"2023-07-07T05:46:36","modified_gmt":"2023-07-07T05:46:36","slug":"zelensky-set-to-meet-turkeys-erdogan-as-ukraine-pushes-nato-goals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deshnews24.info\/?p=38695","title":{"rendered":"Zelensky set to meet Turkey&#8217;s Erdogan as Ukraine pushes NATO goals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to hold talks with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday on the latest leg of a tour to push Ukraine&#8217;s bid to join NATO and secure more weapons from allies.<\/p>\n<p>The talks in Istanbul come on the eve of the 500th day since Russian&#8217;s invasion, with Zelensky admitting a widely anticipated Ukrainian counteroffensive was progressing slowly.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But nevertheless, we are advancing, not retreating, like Russians,&#8221; Zelensky told reporters. &#8220;We now have the initiative.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The talks with Erdogan &#8212; an important broker in the conflict &#8212; are due to focus on an expiring deal to ship Ukrainian grain across the Black Sea as well as next week&#8217;s NATO summit.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts expect Zelensky to push Erdogan to give a green light for Sweden&#8217;s NATO membership ahead of the July 11-12 meet in Lithuanian capital Vilnius.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey is blocking Sweden&#8217;s candidacy because of a longstanding dispute about Stockholm&#8217;s perceived lax attitude toward alleged Kurdish militants living in the Nordic country.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bssnews.net\/news-flash\/134908\">\u09ac\u09bf\u09b8\u09cd\u09a4\u09be\u09b0\u09bf\u09a4<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to hold talks with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday on the latest leg of a tour to push Ukraine&#8217;s bid to join NATO and secure more weapons from allies.
