The nation is set to celebrate the 53rd<\/p>\n
Independence and National Day tomorrow in a befitting manner.<\/p>\n
President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will give separate
\nmessages on the eve of the day.<\/p>\n
The day’s programmes will begin by heralding gun salutes early in the morning
\nas a mark of profound respect to the heroic struggle of this nation, which
\nsuffered a protracted subjugation under foreign rules from time to time till
\nachieving their coveted Independence in 1971.<\/p>\n
The national flag will be hoisted atop all government, semi-government,
\nautonomous and private buildings with the rises of sun while all streets and
\nimportant city intersections will be decorated with national and multi-
\ncoloured miniature flags and festoons.<\/p>\n
Bands of different forces will play music at different important points in
\nDhaka.<\/p>\n
Important buildings and establishments as well as city streets and islands
\nwill be illuminated with colourful lights.<\/p>\n
The National Martyrs’ Memorial at Savar will be the main venue of the day’s
\ncelebration.<\/p>\n
