President M Abdul Hamid today said that he tried to do politics honestly for a long time and got a lot of support from journalists, referring to the good relation with them.<\/p>\n

“I did politics with honesty throughout my life. I didn’t receive anything negative from journalists in my 64 years political career and I am grateful to all journalists,” he told journalists at Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban where he hosted a dinner in honour of them.<\/p>\n

During his brief speech ahead of the dinner, the head of state reminisced about his illustrious political career where he did all things for the betterment of the haor region.<\/p>\n

“In my political life, I didn’t want to get anything for my own; I tried to do everything for the people of haor areas. And even I didn’t want anything from any government for my personal interest,” he mentioned.<\/p>\n
