Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today spent some
\ntime on the Padma Bridge along with her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and daughter
\nSaima Wazed Putul on her way to Gopalganj to visit her ancestral home in
\nTungipara.<\/p>\n
They also took photographs on the Padma Bridge before going to their
\nancestral home crossing the bridge for the first time this morning since its
\ninauguration to traffic on June 25 last.<\/p>\n
Joy, also the premier’s ICT affairs adviser, posted a photograph (selfie)
\nfrom his verified facebook account while numerous facebook users also shared
\nit from their accounts.<\/p>\n
In the selfie, Sheikh Hasina, her son Joy and daughter Putul are seen in
\njoyful faces cheering their journey through the bridge which has made the
\ndreams come true for millions.<\/p>\n
They also took rest for a while in Janjira point’s service area.<\/p>\n
Sheikh Hasina, who first gave toll of the country’s longest structure Padma
\nBride during its opening on June 25 last, also gave toll of the bridge today
\nfrom and off to Dhaka.<\/p>\n
After reaching Tungipara, the Premier offered prayers at the Father of the
\nNation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s mausoleum seeking eternal peace of
\nthe departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
\nand other martyrs of the August 15, 1975 massacre.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister earlier paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu by placing a
\nwreath at his mausoleum.<\/p>\n
After laying the wreath, she stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark
\nof profound respect to the memory of the architect of the independence, who
\nwas brutally killed by some disgruntled army men on the dreadful night of
\nAugust 15, 1975 along with most of his family members.<\/p>\n
Sheikh Hasina also exchanged views with leaders and activists of Tungipara
\nand Kotalipra upazila Awami League, its front and associate bodies at
\nKotalipara Upazila AL office in Gopalganj district.<\/p>\n
